The Restaurant

Welcome to the Glass Onion. We strongly believe in the importance of eating seasonally, locally and naturally. So, you can expect all natural meats, local seafood and vegetables from as close to home as we can get. We offer an all “green” wine list featuring wines that are sustainable, organic or biodynamic, such as Bonny Doon's Cigare Blanc and Anne Amie's Cuvee "A". Enjoy half priced bottles of wine on Mondays and everyday with your takeout order!  We also offer a selection of artisanal beers from such noted breweries as Coast, Bell's and Avery. Whether you are looking for a light lunch, a decadent brunch or dinner paired with your favorite libation – we will satisfy.

As an eighth generation Alabama native, Chris hails from a rich tradition of Southern eating and cooking. Growing up in Birmingham his earliest memories include boiled green peanuts, vegetables straight out of the garden and his Momma's country fried steak. Summers spent at his grandparents' house in Savannah eventually drew him to Charleston where he attended Johnson and Wales University. Upon graduation, he furthered his passion in kitchen like SNOB before becoming the sous chef at FIG. But really it all goes back to that country fried steak. Chris sets out to make his momma proud by serving his version at the Glass Onion.

Life just doesn't get any better than a tomato sandwich on white bread with plenty of Duke's mayonnaise, according to Sarah. Her dark secret happens to be that during her childhood in Georgia she actually knew nothing but Hellman's. Yet, somehow she still managed to find a career in food. A winding path via kitchens and keyboards landed her jobs with Emeril and various publications in New Orleans and Charleston. This and her gift for gab enables her to talk entirely too much about all food topics. So, she will be happy to explain every nuance of the Glass Onion to any willing person but don't get her started on mayonnaise.
